The Wykeham Collegiate Gr 9 learner inspire with walk for change
The Wykeham Collegiate Gr 9 learner making a difference through the Walking Wild 4 Girls (WW4G) campaign. Inspired by the life story of Malala Yousafzai, Amy Macaskill, a Grade 9 pupil at The Wykeham Collegiate, is determined to make a difference in the lives of young girls in Africa. She has teamed up with Eco Children and the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve to raise funds through the Walking Wild 4 Girls (WW4G) campaign.
In order to raise the funds required annually she has committed to walking 90km along the Klaserie River, over 4 days to raise R300,000 so that she can help give one girl the chance to go to Southern Cross Schools in Hoedspruit – a life changing opportunity for education. WW4G is not only challenging because of the distance – it’s also in Big Five country and Amy’s group can expect various wilderness challenges along the way! If you would like to support Amy and help change a young girl’s life, you can donate to the cause on Amy’s GivenGain page here:
